Remedial Massage

The stressors of life, along with poor posture and inactive lifestyle can lead to muscles becoming tight knotted or crampy. These damaged muscles can stimulate the pain sensors, radiating pain to another area of the body, or in a localised area. They can also lead to inflammation, with the pressure of increased fluid damaging surrounding tissues or joints.

Remedial massage or Myotherapy uses modern techniques to help locate the sources of pain and release the tense and/or damaged muscles to allow the body to work with less dysfunction or pain.

To ensure the remedial massage therapist addresses your health concerns, they will begin by taking a brief history. Once they have the necessary information, they will prepare a range of oils and creams compatible with your body’s specific needs.

The remedial massage therapist uses a range of techniques to release the tension points throughout the body, including different types of oils, cupping and specific manual release techniques practiced by qualified therapists.

Remedial Massage assists the damaged muscles by stimulating the bloody supply, helping to move stagnant blood and assist with the realignment of muscles and tendons. This helps make the joints more mobile and stimulates the healing process of the damaged muscles.

The different techniques are designed to help relieve problems and traumas resulting from cramps, whiplash, arthritic conditions, headaches, low back pain and isolate muscle injuries.
